Snapshot
What domain authority is in this report
Domain authority here is a 0 to 100 score from a link index: a model of how likely a domain is to rank relative to other domains in that index. It is not a search-engine ranking factor, not a guarantee of rankings, and not a traffic count. Two sites with the same score can have very different monthly visits.
Page rank in this snapshot is a separate numeric field from the same family of data, not a historic public toolbar rank. Spam score estimates how much of the linking neighborhood looks like spam in that index. External pages is a count of pages from other sites that appear as linking to the domain.
Scores update on the provider's schedule. The "last updated" field tells you when that authority block was refreshed. Cached lookups on our side can reuse a recent snapshot.
Spam score and external pages
Spam score is a risk filter, not a moral judgment. A higher score means the link graph around the domain looks more like known spam patterns in that index. A low score does not prove the site is a good publisher. A mid score on a huge news domain is a different situation from a mid score on a three-page affiliate site.
External pages (linking pages) describe volume of inbound URLs in the index, not quality. Ten links from relevant sites in your niche beat a large count from scraped directories. Use the count to see whether the graph is empty, small, or large, then read the site itself.
If spam score is high and visits are also high, you still have a decision to make. Some large properties collect noisy links. If spam score is high and visits are near zero, the name is usually a poor outreach or purchase target unless you have another reason.
Authority versus traffic versus age
Domain authority and monthly visits answer different questions. Authority is about the link index. Visits are about estimated audience. A DA 40 site with 80,000 visits can be a better ad or sponsorship target than a DA 60 site with 2,000 visits. A DA 60 site with clean topical overlap can be a better link target than a busier unrelated domain.
Domain age from WHOIS does not set domain authority. Old names can have weak graphs. New names can inherit a graph after a drop-catch if the history is messy. Check age when you care about registration and expiry. Check authority when you care about the link model. Check traffic when you care about audience size and sources.
AI referral traffic is a third slice. It does not replace DA. Run the AI traffic checker only when that entity is the question you actually have.
Using DA in outreach and buying
A common workflow is a numeric floor (for example DA above a threshold you choose) plus a spam ceiling, then a traffic pass, then a human read of the site. This page is the first two numbers. It does not replace visiting the URL.
Do not chase the highest DA on a list if the topic is wrong. A cookery blog with DA 35 is a better link for a recipe product than a DA 55 casino footer. The score has no topic field. Keywords on the website traffic checker are the closer proxy for topic in this product.
Free checks are one domain. Credits cover bulk CSV and API so you can apply the same filters to a list. Credits do not expire.
